Diagnostic Care

Your pet cannot communicate what hurts, making diagnostics increasingly challenging and vital. Skinner Animal Clinic is home to state-of-the-art diagnostic technology, as well as a team of dedicated and highly-experienced veterinary professionals, to provide unrivaled care for your cherished companion.

Pain Management

We never want your pet to be in pain! At Skinner Animal Clinic, we are focused on significantly reducing or completely eliminating any pain your pet is feeling. We rigorously manage pain before, during, and after any procedure that may cause even the slightest discomfort. If you believe your pet is in pain, do not hesitate to call us. We want nothing more than your pet to be healthy, happy, and comfortable.

Your pet cannot tell you what hurts! This makes it difficult as pet owners to notice signs of pain or discomfort. At Skinner Animal Clinic, we believe in educating pet owners on signs of pain, no matter how subtle. Education is prevention and allows areas of concern to be identified sooner.

In-House Lab

Pets are very good at hiding pain and illness. In comparison to an outside reference lab, our in-house lab analyzes test results quickly, allowing for a speedier treatment and recovery. We commonly analyze diagnostic work at our in-house lab such as fecal tests, skin scrapings, urinalysis and blood work such as packed cell volume and total protein levels. Complete blood counts and blood chemistry profiles results are sent to our lab with results the next day.

We still utilize outside reference labs for less frequent and non-urgent tests.

Ultrasound technology is an advanced diagnostic tool allowing us to see what is going on inside your pet’s body. We will check your pet’s internal organs such as the bladder, kidneys and liver to locate areas of pain and concern, which may indicate the source of illness, injury or disease. Another benefit of ultrasounds is that they are non-invasive and pain-free!

X-Rays allow us to instantly view and inspect what is going on inside from a single, high-quality image. Radiology technology is especially beneficial in diagnosing heart disease, kidney disease, liver disease, intestinal blockages, bladder stones, broken bones, spinal cord diseases, chronic arthritis, cancer, and much more. This tool is not only invaluable, it is also safe, painless, and non-invasive!
